Fiduciary Duties of HOA Board Members

Matt Grode

HOA General Counsel | Board Governance & Legal Education

In his many years of practice, Mr. Grode has represented hundreds of community associations relative to a broad array of legal issues including, but not limited to, interpretation and enforcement of governing documents, drafting of governing documents, contract negotiations and disputes, and construction defect litigation. His practice includes the representation of commercial and residential owners, homeowners associations, and builders with regard to construction defect litigation. Mr. Grode frequently represents buyers, sellers, and brokers in residential real estate transactions and litigation. Additionally, Mr. Grode provides advice and counsel to numerous business entities with regard to their transactional and litigation matters.

Mediation- Following extensive training, Mr. Grode has served as the mediator in countless disputes. He also assisted in the creation of the Greater Los Angeles CAI Chapter mediation program.
